	Corgi Aviation Legends 1/72 scale AA35204: Curtiss P-40E Warhawk (Kittyhawk I) of 112 Sqn RAF, Neville Duke, North Africa, 1942. Legends models have fixed lowered undercarriage on a display stand within a plastic blister with diorama base. They are non limited Length 5.5 inches Wingspan 6.25 inches This aircraft was the regular mount of Flight Officer Neville Duke during the first months of 1942. On the 14th February he shared in 112 Squadrons achievements when the unit enjoyed considerable success near Tobruk - Duke sent a C.200 crashing into the ground and shared in the destruction of a second. These were his final claims in the Curtiss and his only ones in a Kittyhawk. AK578 saw further action with Nos 4 and 5 Sqns SAAF before going on to 73 OTU. It was listed as missing during a training flight with this unit in March 1944. Designed to meet a USAAC requirement for a pursuit aircraft, the P-40 Warhawk was first flown on October 14th, 1938. This aircraft was tough, virtually trouble-free and saw continual improvements to arms, armor and engines. The P-40 served in numerous combat areas; often outclassed by its adversaries in speed, maneuverability and rate of climb, it earned a reputation for extreme ruggedness. Its strong construction, heavy firepower, and ability to dive enabled it to compete with enemy fighters, and it was a formidable ground-attack aircraft. P-40s were also flown by the famed Flying Tigers against the Japanese in China.
