  Corgi AA36601 P-38J-15 Lightning in the superb markings of "Marge", as flown by ace pilot Major Richard "Dick" Bong of the 49th fighter Group, 5th Fighter Command based on New Guinea in 1942. Excellent model with limited edition certificate. Now harder to find.

In May 1941 Richard Bong enlisted in the US Army Air Corps.Lieutenant Bong received his wings and commission in January 1942 and in October was flying combat missions in the Southwest Pacific.By April of 1944 Captain Bong had shot down 27 aircraft surpassing Eddie Rickenbacker's American record of 26 credited victories. The fully restored aircraft is on show at the Wisconsin Heritage Centre.


Mint and boxed 1/72 scale limited edition of 3,990. Displays superbly, has to be seen to be appreciated. Now very hard to find.
