PLANECRAZY UPDATE

2016-05-11
Dear loyal customers. Just a quick update to let you know that Planecrazy are moving house shortly. The stock is now in secure storage, so will be sent out either once or twice a week. There should be no real disruption to service, other than the period when we actually move and this should be no more than a week while the internet and phone are sorted out.

The website itself is being revamped as the original one was designed for only 300 or so planes and now cruising along with ten times that number on it!!

We aim to provide an even better service to you in future, with promotional offers from time to time and keen pricing. Please contact us if you have specific requirements as we are always able to provide a solution to suit.

Thanks for your continuing loyalty and support.

The Plane Crazy team

Photobucket Photobucket
a 54 Sqn Jaguar GR3 in grey livery with Laser Guided Bombload:

Meteor T7 in natural metal with yellow trainer bands
Photobucket

Only small numbers of each will be produced and the final aircraft serial numbers are not definite, but the pictures give the idea of what the models will look like. If you wish to pre order any or all of these please email me on chris@planecrazy.biz

PLEASE NOTE: Production of these models is going to be very slow, with delivery day dates up to 3 years hence. So we would ask for your patience in waiting for these to be altered.

PLANECRAZY HITS THE 3,000 MARK

2014-09-06
Dear valued customers. Planecrazy continues to thrive despite a difficult climate of World recession. It seems almost unbelievable but have just tipped the 3,000 mark of different aviation related items on the website. Most of these are diecast aircraft models, but there are also books, prints, kits, patches and badges.

A recent technical problem has now been fixed and the site is back running as it should do. Expect an updated version in future months which will be easier to use and have several added features.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our superb customers for their continuing business and helping to make Planecrazy the continuing success story that it is.

Chris and Mandy

POSTAGE PRICES

2013-05-10
Just a quick update regarding postage prices. Royal Mail in their wisdom decided to revise their postage pricing system recently. This has made them uncompetitive, so other than for some international parcels I have decided to dispense with their services and use a courier in future. Over the next few days I will revise the postage costs (all downwards) to reflect the savings.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: Please email me on chris@planecrazy.biz giving your Country and order and I'll send you a Paypal invoice including airmail fee. I will require a phone number for the courier

MIRAGE 111, FALCON T-33s & LATEST HOBBYMASTER

2011-04-27
Just arrived are the fist 1/72 scale diecast models of the Mirage 111 and T-33 Shooting Star, plus some gorgeous new Hobbymaster.

The Mirage is an Altaya product, complete with drop tanks and Sidewinders in a Superb Armee de l'Air livery. Unusually for Altaya these have properly indented, authentic looking panel lines.

Photobucket
The T-33s are in 4 different liveries, namely USAF, Canadian, West German and Spanish Air Forces. These feature opening canopies. All models have optional undercarriage positions and stand. Very few of the above are in stock so please be quick if you don't want to miss out!
Photobucket
The Hobbymaster include a new 1/48 scale Spitfire X1V in D-Day livery, as flown by the other Johnny Johnson on anti V-1 missions, a new casting in the form of the F-5N Tiger 11 in US Navy Sundowner livery, the latest A-26 in Korean colours, a new Bentwaters A-10 with revised undercarriage and weapons and a fabulous Skymax Devastator in pre-war silver and yellow livery.
Photobucket

PLANECRAZY BURSTS THE 1700 BARRIER!

2011-04-14
As of today Plancrazy is very pleased (and somewhat stunned) to announce that the website now offers over 1,700 different (predominantly diecast) aviation related items for sale.

Thanks to everyone for your continuing business and support

SOME MORE EXCITING NEW MODELS

2011-03-21
Just in are some slightly obscure subjects, which PLANECRAZY customers seem to love. Anyone never flown on a Boeing 737? Well we think we have one of the most popular: a 737-800 (with winglets) in Thomson livery. Made by Gemini in 1/200 scale, it's a little cracker and will remind you of those fabulous holidays to sunnier climes (dream on!!)
Photobucket

Also in 1/200 we have the superb Britannia in British Eagle and Monarch livery from 1st Choice 200; the ones that Corgi should have done!
Photobucket
The 1/200 airliner theme continues with some nice interesting subjects: How about the Ilyushin Il-14, or the superb British United Carvair from Phoenix? Or how about 2 different Airbus A-320s, a BAE146, a US Marines DC-9, Tupolev Tu-154M or an MD-80 from JC Wings?

To find these items go into the non-corgi section and type in the aircraft name in the search box. It's that easy folks!

Brand new from Century Wings is the F-14B Tomcat (number 910935) of VF-143 Pukin Dogs on a limited run of only 1,002.
Photobucket

From Altaya are 3 new diecast models of 1/72 scale choppers: A SuperCobra of the USMC, an Apache of the US Army and a Cougar/Superpuma of the French Air Force. All 3 are well known worldwide, yet seem to have been neglected until now in diecast circles; essential for any collection.

Keep checking the site if something has been out of stock. We keep it right up to date (unlike many other sellers)and try to keep as many different items in stock as we possibly can. With well over 1,600 different items available no one else comes anywhere near close to us for offering you the best possible choice of models on the market.

LATEST ON PLANECRAZY CODE 3 LIGHTNING MODELS !!

2011-01-17
CALLING ALL LIGHTNING FANS: Exclusively to PLANECRAZY customers this is the first of several fabulous new livery 1/72 very low production run limited edition Corgi Lightning models. These are "Code 3" adapted, each one modified by hand from the last remaining PLANECRAZY 29 Sqn models. The first is an F3 XP696 of 2(T) Squadron, 226 OCU based at RAF Coltishall in 1974. The Lightning display pilot at the time (Flight Lieutenant Peter Chapman) won the annual solo aerobatic display trophy in 1974 flying this aircraft. Peter put in some amazing, rivet-popping displays in '696, which oldies like myself will never forget and still talk about today. Now at least you can remind yourself of those glory days by putting a model of this historic aircraft on display in your cabinet! Looking truly amazing in accurate livery with white fin and spine, 2(T) Sqn mathematical Pii and light blue triangle markings, plus uniquely numbered certificate, the model is strictly limited to only 100 pieces. This not only makes the model the lowest production run Lightning ever, but also increases the value of the 29 Sqn model as the total number of these worldwide have now be reduced accordingly.

EXCLUSIVE INFORMATION: The pilot of XP696 Peter Chapman has very kindly personally signed all 100 of the limited edition certificates!! As such, demand for XP696 has outstripped supply. The first batch of 50 have been sent to customers and the feedback has been fantastic. Thanks to everyone for their support. Orders for the second batch of 50 ARE NOW FULL (Sorry!). No payment is being taken until the models have been completed and ready to send. Please note that each one is a code 3 and has been adapted by hand so there will be inevitably miniscule differences between each one, though this will be difficult to detect with the naked eye. The second batch are expected to be ready sometime in January.

LATEST EXCLUSIVE: The next model will be a run of only 50 of an F1A of the Target Facilities Flight at Wattisham, complete with rounded fin tip and Firestreak missiles. Order book for this one is now also full, even though the model is several months away from production (thanks for all your support folks). However purists PLEASE NOTE: the longer cable duct of the F3 will have to remain and the refuel probe attachments will show on the underwing points. General feedback suggests this is not an issue but please bear this in mind if ordering.

Beyond this there are going to be some very low runs of various Lightnings in liveries previously not done, all in natural metal finish. Exciting times ahead for Lightning nuts; kepp your eyes peeled on this web page for updates. Early days presently but there are provisional plans to produce some low run 2-seater T4 and T5s!

The pics show XP696 in all its finery and 1974 Solo Aerobatic Champion pilot Peter Chapman signing one of the certificates.

PLANECRAZY WORLD WAR 2 BONANZA!

2010-03-09
Great news folks. We have just obtained a huge haul of Corgi World War 2 1/72 and 1/32 scale Aviation Archive models, which have been unavailable from Planecrazy for some time now. Also we are pleased to be able to offer several other Corgi World War 2 aircraft which have not previously been obtainable via our website. These include several of the "Nose Art" and "Flight Line Collection" models, intended mainly for US issue and quite rare in the UK.
The models will gradually be appearing on the website over the coming days and weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for anything turning up that you've been waiting for. Remember to use the search facility to save you time.

Happy hunting!
Chris and Mandy

PLANECRAZY HAPPY DAYS!!

2010-02-22
Just arrived are even more new models, which have increased the number of items on our website www.planecrazy.biz to over the 1,400 barrier. Keep your eyes peeled on the site as periodically some of the obsolete Corgi which has been out of stock will be once again available. Please let us know if you want to be placed on my waiting list for any model not currently available and we'll do our best to source it for you.

We are particularly impressed with Hobbymaster models and have decided to increase our variety of their models in stock. Take a look at their superb range; you won't be disappointed and there is more to come: Present and future releases include the best 1/72 scale F-4 Phantom model available in many liveries, F-22 Raptor, A-1 Skyraider, A-10 Thunderbolt, F-105 Thunderchief, F-100 Super Sabre, Mig 15, Mig 21, F-104 Starfighter, Mirage 2000, T-6 Texan/Harvard, P-39 Airacobra, Curtis Helldiver, Japanese Kate and GR7/9 Harrier! Or how about the superbly detailed 1/48 scale Spitfire mark 14 or Focke Wulf FW 190?!! Many of their range are models which the diecast world are seeing for the first time. The models are really accurate, with intricate panel lines and attractive liveries. Many are now sold out at wholesale and extremely sought after, representing excellent future investments. Don't be too late to snap them up at very competitive prices. Don't forget that the Corgi Predator range are also Hobbymaster castings. At present they are the true bargains of the diecast world, with wonderful liveries and limited edition booklets at rock bottom prices.

In the Non-Corgi diecast section there are plenty of models from smaller manufacturers, who are producing models of aircraft which have not been previously released. A perfect example is Sky Max, whose 1/72 diecast models of the Bearcat, Tempest, Aichi Val dive bomber, F-84 Thunderjet and Russian LA-5 are easily on a par with Corgi and represent excellent value for money. Now they have announced they will soon produce a long-awaited model of the Jet Provost.

Back in stock are some hard to find Altaya models such as the sought after Defiant, Skua, HE219, HE162, D0335, Dewoitine D520, Morane 406, Oscar, Tony, Grace and Raiden. None of which are made by anyone else in diecast. They are linked with IXO, who have produced more obscure 1/144 models like the C-54 Cargomaster and Kawanishi Emily and BV 222 flying boats, plus the 1/72 Arado 234 jet bomber

I now have a nice variety of 1/400 models from Gemini, Dragon and Jet X. These include many jet airliners and some of the larger military aircraft, many of which are now hard to find.

NOW IN STOCK is the new Witty Wings Tornado F3 in 25 Squadron livery. It is limited to only 1,500 pieces and complete with lifting canopy, optional undercarriage and moving parts. Coming soon is the Fairey Gannet

In addition to the diecast models there are plastic kits, aviation art prints, patches, books and memorabilia to purchase.

Even if you're not a collector and need some cheaper toy planes for a kids party there are plenty to choose from!

Thanks to all our customers for making www.planecrazy.biz what it now is: The only place to offer such a vast and diverse range of rare and collectible diecast aircraft models.

Thanks for your continuing custom

The Planecrazy gang

NEW CORGI, CENTURY WINGS, WITTY WINGS AND GEMINI

2008-09-19
CORGI

I attended a preview of the 2009 Corgi model range on 18 September and had the privilege to view some of the forthcoming models. They include a new "Survivors" range which include a new version of Vulcan XH558, Bruntingthorpe Lightning F6 XR728, the prototype Mosquito, Vampire T11 and Brooklands Wellington. Also products which took my eye were a 2-seat night fighter ME262, 20 Sqn grey and green Tornado, Buccaneer red flag, Jaguar in orange decommission livery, Red Arrow new livery Hawk, Chinook in current Afghanistan colours, Hawk in Battle of Britain livery and a revised casting VC-10 tanker. Others included 1/48 scale Fokker DR1, Camel, and Albatross, some new JU-88, Swordfish, MiG29, AH-60, FW190 and JU-52s, plus a new casting Skyhawk. Corgi are really now listening to what collectors want and are lowering their production runs to prevent the traditional dumping. Good for everyone!

CENTURY WINGS

Look out for several of the outstanding Century Wings range of aircraft models coming in stock at Planecrazy. Specialising so far in purely US Navy jets they have released the F-14 Tomcat, A-6 Intruder, A-7 Corsair and F-8 Crusader. Planecrazy is aiming to offer you several liveries of each of these models. The older releases are now completely sold out at wholesalers and (as they are on low limited edition runs) already hard to find and attracting premium prices. If you have not yet taken a look at these models we suggest that you really ought to; the quality of the castings and panel lines are second to none, plus they come with full weapon loads, optional undercarriage, opening canopies, limited edition certificate and stand. Uniquely some of the F-14 and F-8 models have versions with flaps down and undercarriage compressed in the carrier take-off configuration. These are a perfect compliment to the normal configuration versions. Happy hunting!

WITTY WINGS

Coming into stock very shortly is the excellent new Witty Wings 1/72 scale Tornado F3. Limited editions with optional undercarriage positions; the first 2 models will be in 25 Sqn and 43 Sqn liveries. Collectors have been crying out for this model and Witty will no doubt not disappoint us.

GEMINI JETS

BRUNTINGTHORPE COLD WAR JETS OPEN DAY

2008-05-16
Bruntingthorpe aviation museum have announced that they will be holding another COLD WAR JETS Open Day on Sunday 25th May 2008. It is a truly unique experience; spectators can watch cold war jets such as the Victor, Comet, Buccaneer, Hunter, Jet Provost and the wonderful Lightning scorch down the runway on fast taxi runs, much closer to the public line than at a normal air display. Anyone who has not yet been to watch are really missing a treat; if you haven't seen or heard a Lightning in full reheat you haven't lived!! In addition Vulcan XH558 is expected to be on static display, so the public can see her before she is due to return to the air display circuit within the month! There will be other events such as tuned BMW cars racing against fast jets, remote control aircraft displays, an aero jumble and much more! Planecrazy will be having a stall on the day, where we will have our exclusive Lightning model on sale, together with many other diecast aircraft models including ones suitable for children. Please bear in mind that space will be at a premium so if you want to pre-order anything it would be preferable to contact me by email or phone beforehand. Please also note I do not accept any credit cards. Entry cost is only ú12 per adult and kids 16 and under are free, gates open at 10.00 am. Hope to see you there.

THE VULCAN FLIES, OH YES SHE DOES!!

2007-10-18
Vulcan XH558 has returned to the skies for the first time in 14 years. She made her maiden test flight following a major overhaul from Bruntingthorpe at around mid day today.
More flights will follow in the next few weeks as a 3 mile exclusion zone has been declared around the airfield until 2nd November. WELL DONE TO The Vulcan Operating Company and all its supporters!!!

VULCAN XH558 TO FLY TODAY!!!!

2007-10-17
Very strong rumours suggest that (if serviceable) Vulcan XH558 will take off from Bruntingthorpe for the first time in over 14 years tomorrow; Thursday the 18th of October!! She has been given clearance by the Civil Aviation Authority for 3 test flights after an amazing story concerning her rebuild following the granting of lottery funds and donations by 20,000 people. Possibly the most amazing spectacle in recent aviation history is really going to happen. Who could ever have imagined that a huge 1950s cold war four engined bomber would be returned to the air in this day and age where we can't even have an airborne Lightning in the UK? BRILLIANT STUFF!!!! Maybe there's hope for a Lightning yet??

CORGI ANNOUNCE 2007 MODEL RELEASES

2006-10-22
The Corgi 2007 Catalogue is now out, complete with some very nice surprises for the Aviation collector. In addition to expected releases such as the 1/144 scale VC-10 and 1/72 Lysander, P-38 Lightning, 2 Typhoons (WW2 and Eurofighter), Halifax, Catalina and JU88 there is now to be a P-51B Mustang, Vampire, MIG 29, A-10 and Wessex. As if that isn't enough the Canberra tooling has been modded to include the single cockpit B(I)8 variant and the 1/144 Hercules has been altered to a C-130J. A Falklands theme to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the war will include a Harrier/ Sea Harrier twinset on a simulated carrier ski ramp.

Pause for breath here because the good news continues: Co-operation with manufacturer Hobbymaster means that their excellent Stuka, Dauntless, Avenger, Hellcat, MIG 21 and Starfighter will be offered each in 3 different liveries as Corgi products (none clashing with Hobbymaster colour schemes)and known as the Predator range.

The Connoisseur range is also introduced with several models in very limited quantities of only 150 each in oak display cases.

Finally another shocker is that several WW1 biplanes are to be released in 1/48 scale, initially the Albatross, SE5a and Spad.

PARTY TIME!!!
